TWO NOTEBOOK ASSIGNMENTS:


  1. In your LITERARY TERMS Section, define symbolism (the use of objects to represent something else. For example, a red rose might symbolize love). Then check out this photo...Snow Train Express Winter (photo by Mieke Photos): Discuss what the color red might symbolize in this picture.
  2. Then in your WRITER'S NOTEBOOK Section, define cinquain (A five-line stanza of syllabic verse. The five lines have, respectively two, four, six, eight, and two syllables.) Then create a cinquain about your duck. Click here to review Ducks Galore project and here to read my cinquain.

As time permits, please place a photo of your duck on the class wikispace at Cafe English 11.

Now let's hand back papers, so we can get them all filed away!
