Welcome back and welcome to English 11...and 2010-2011!

Today's Announcements.
  • Informal Luau Welcome Back to School Dance after the Pep Rally on Friday in the BHS cafeteria from 9:00-12:00 pm for grades 10-12. The cost is $5.00 per student. Matthew's Photography will be there taking pics...beach/sand scene!
  • STUDENT ALL SPORTS PASSES are on sale in the office for $40.00. This will get you into ALL sports. See Ms. Teonia.
  • Students logging in for the first time use Pioneer1 as the password. Then you will be prompted to change. See Ms. James if you have trouble or need an account.

Today's Vocabulary Word (5 minutes)

  • Anthropology: First, break the word into its parts.
  • Using this site, determine what anthropology means. We will add this word to your vocabulary section of your three-ring binder next week.
  • This word begins our first thematic unit: A Pioneer Never Quits.

Today's Grammar Tip (5 minutes)

  • Should one end a sentence with a preposition? The answer.

  • Create a Google Account. May refer to this Creating Your Digital Identity PowerPoint for step-by-step instructions. This will create your gmail account also. PLEASE, please! Create a professional-sounding email! No other will be accepted. REMINDER: this email account is for this class; thus, you will be required to share log-ins and passwords with me (and me only!).
  • Please keep up with your login/passwords on this Digital Identify form.
  • Ponder on this: to what would your compare your writing process? Here's mine. Please have your WHAT determined by the next class time...that is all that is due!
  • Five Steps in the Writing Process: Prewriting, Drafting, Editing, Revising, Publishing.
